Balduin is a Swiss multi-instrumentalist and composer born in Bern (1978) who has released a diverse body of music since 2001. Playing all instruments himself, his style spans dreamy electronica, lo-fi experimental pop, neo-psychedelia, and harpsichord recitals. He has also created film music, game soundtracks, and jingles since 2002.
Early Electronic Era (2001–2004): Debuted with the heavy sample-based album Creative Cookery on the German label Crippled Dick Hot Wax, followed by the EP Choose Cheese and the self-titled album Balduin.
Archival Lo-Fi & Classical (2009–2012): Released Rainbow Tapes and Musical Images for Harpsichord via Everest Records. This lo-fi archival series later expanded with Acid Tapes (2022), Plush Tapes (2022), and Sticky Tapes (2023).
Neo-Psychedelia (2014–2021): Released 1960s-inspired vintage psych-pop on UK labels, including All in a Dream (2014), Bohemian Garden (2017), Look at Me I'm You (2020), and the melodic She's the One (2021).
Library Synth-Pop (2023): Released MIDISCO, an instrumental library music album recorded via MIDI on real analogue gear, capturing an authentic 1980s television and radio vibe.
